K-STONES FINO (NATURAL COLORED FINISHING PLASTER)
K-Stones Fino is a natural colored finishing plaster negating the need for painting or other finishes.
It is a hydraulic plaster of medium granulometry (particle size 0-1.4mm). It is highly responsive to various application techniques giving a wide range of finishes. The end result of the finishing is not of a solid uniform color like plastic paints or synthetic colored plasters. Instead it has a natural distinctive finish with a wide color gradient (shadow effect) giving depth and character.
The composition of K-Stones Fino is based exclusively on natural raw materials (natural hydraulic lime NHL 3.5, natural pozzolan, fine white marble, dolomitic limestone etc.) as well as natural pigments. It does not contain any cement, toxic substances or petrochemicals.
DESCRIPTION
K-Stones Fino is a highly breathable material, regulating indoor moisture levels. It is naturally bacteriostatic and fungistatic and improves indoor air quality.
It is suitable for green building and bioclimatic design as well as for historic restoration of buildings due to its natural composition and compatibility with historical materials and techniques. It is suitable for interior and exterior applications.
It is a time and cost efficient solution due to eliminating the need for painting and the high maintenance costs associated with painting. It requires zero maintenance and it is not peeling off like paints.
In outdoors applications K-Stones Fino develops a patina over time which is considered part of the charm of the material. In case that is not desired a transparent water repellent or sealer must be applied.
It is highly durable even in adverse conditions such as in coastal areas.
It is suitable for pointing rock masonry.
It is recyclable.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
PREPARATION
The substrate must be clean, fully cured, solid and sound, uniform and homogeneous.
The substrate should be sufficiently stable and free of dust, grease, loose materials, etc.
Prior to application we thoroughly wet the substrate.
MIXING PROCEDURE
Add 5.5 liters of water per 25kg bag, in a container and gradually add the bags mixing with a low speed plaster mixer.
Only mix whole bags. We use all the product we prepared and we don’t add it to the next mixing.
Mix for approximately 5 minutes, until a uniform paste without lumps and with the desirable workability is achieved (initially it will appear dry, do not add water, just keep mixing).
It is advised to add an acrylic dispersion into the mixing water (0.5-1liter per bag), that offers better abrasion resistance and flexibility.
APPLICATION
Use a trowel or other appropriate tool for initial layering, pressing to ensure that no air remains trapped. Apply additional layers if necessary and press to ensure that no air remains trapped between the layers. Level with a float and finish with a soft sponge float or a flat stainless steel trowel with rounded corners depending on the desired finish.
In any case discreet surfaces must be applied uninterrupted to avoid visible joints, always finishing on the edges of intersecting surfaces.
For the first 24 Hours after initial application keep surfaces damp with light uniform sprinkling. Quick drying must be avoided as with all plasters when curing, to eliminate the possibility of cracking.
Wash tools with water.
