K-STONES STUCCO VENEZIANO

K-Stones Stucco Veneziano is a hydraulic, colored finishing plaster. The end result achieved is glossy, smooth and breathable.
It has a very fine granulometry (maximum particle size 0.2mm). The end result of the finishing is not of a solid uniform color like plastic paints. Instead it has a natural distinctive finish with a wide color gradient (shadow effect) giving depth and unique character. According to the finishing technique it can have more or less shadows and be more or less glossy.

The composition of K-Stones Stucco Veneziano is based exclusively on natural raw materials (natural hydraulic lime NHL 3.5, natural pozzolan, fine white marble etc.) as well as natural pigments. It does not contain any cement, toxic substances or petrochemicals.

DESCRIPTION

K-Stones Stucco Veneziano is a highly breathable material, regulating indoor moisture levels. It is naturally bacteriostatic and fungistatic and improves indoor air quality.
It is suitable for green building and bioclimatic design as well as for historic restoration of buildings due to its natural composition and compatibility with historical materials and techniques.
It is suitable for interior and exterior applications.
A transparent wax or special varnish can be used for the protective coating of the surface. In that way the surface acquires water repellent properties and can be washed.
It is recyclable.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

PREPARATION

The substrate must be clean, fully cured, solid and sound, uniform and homogeneous.

The substrate should be sufficiently stable and free of dust, grease, loose materials, etc.

Prior to application we thoroughly wet the substrate.

MIXING PROCEDURE

For the preparation of the stucco we mix one bag of K-Stones Stucco Veneziano and the natural pigments of the chosen color with 5 liters of water for the 10kg bag and 10 liters of water for the 20kg bag.

The pigments should first be dissolved into the amount of pure water which is to be used for mixing. Then gradually add the stucco powder mixing with a low speed plaster mixer.

Only mix whole bags. We use all the product we prepared and we don’t add it to the next mixing.

Mix for approximately 5 minutes, until a uniform paste without lumps and with the desirable workability is achieved (initially it will appear dry, do not add water, just keep mixing).

APPLICATION

Use a stainless steel spatula with rounded corners or any other appropriate tool for initial layering, pressing to ensure that no air remains trapped. Apply additional layers until the desired finish is achieved and press to ensure that no air remains trapped between the layers using a stainless steel or plastic spatula with rounded edges (usually 2 or 3 layers are enough). Previous layer should be almost dry (approx. 80%) before applying next layer.

Pressing of the final layer produces also the “shadow effects” that characterize this kind of decorative surface, so its intensity should be relevant to the desired result.

Keep pressing lightly in order to achieve the glossy final result.

In any case discreet surfaces must be applied uninterrupted to avoid visible joints, always finishing on the edges of intersecting surfaces.

For the first 24 Hours after initial application keep surfaces damp with light uniform sprinkling. Quick drying must be avoided as with all plasters when curing, to eliminate the possibility of cracking.

Wash tools with water.
