K-STONES KHORASAN (NATURAL COLORED FINISHING PLASTER)
K-Stones Khorasan is a traditional hydraulic mortar known from ancient times as Roman Plaster, negating the need for painting or other finishes.
It is a hydraulic plaster of medium granulometry (according to the chosen color maximum particle size 1.5-2.5mm). It is highly responsive to various application techniques giving a wide range of finishes. The end result of the finishing is not of a solid uniform color like plastic paints or synthetic colored plasters. Instead it has a natural distinctive finish with a wide color gradient (shadow effect) giving depth and character.
The composition of K-Stones Khorasan is based on natural raw materials like lime, natural pozzolan (powder of lava rock and ceramics) and various colored marble, quartz and stone particles. In some colors natural pigments have also been added.
DESCRIPTION
K-Stones Khorasan is a highly breathable material, regulating indoor moisture levels. It is naturally bacteriostatic and fungi static and improves indoor air quality.
It is suitable for green building and bioclimatic design.
It is suitable for interior and exterior applications.
It is a time and cost efficient solution due to eliminating the need for painting and the high maintenance costs associated with painting. It requires zero maintenance and it is not peeling off like paints.
In outdoors applications K-Stones Khorasan develops a patina over time which is considered part of the charm of the material. In case that this is not desired a transparent water repellent or sealer must be applied.
It is highly durable even in adverse conditions such as in coastal areas.
It is suitable for pointing rock masonry and for the construction of cast pebble flooring.
It is recyclable.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
PREPARATION
The substrate must be clean, fully cured, solid and sound, uniform and homogeneous.
The substrate should be sufficiently stable and free of dust, grease, loose materials, etc.
Prior to application we thoroughly wet the substrate.
MIXING PROCEDURE
K-Stones Khorasan comes in sets of 4 bags (3 bags of inert material and one binder).
Add approx. 15 liters of water per set, in a container and gradually add the 4 bags of the set mixing with a low speed plaster mixer.
Only mix whole sets. We use all the product we prepared and we don’t add it to the next mixing.
Mix for approximately 5 minutes, until a uniform paste without lumps and with the desirable workability is achieved (Add water if required).
It is advised to add an acrylic dispersion into the mixing water (1liter per set), that offers better abrasion resistance and flexibility.
APPLICATION
Use a trowel or other appropriate tool for initial layering, pressing to ensure that no air remains trapped. Apply additional layers if necessary and press to ensure that no air remains trapped between the layers. Level with a float and finish with a soft sponge float or a flat stainless steel trowel with rounded corners depending on the desired finish.
In any case discreet surfaces must be applied uninterrupted to avoid visible joints, always finishing on the edges of intersecting surfaces.
For the first 24 Hours after initial application keep surfaces damp with light uniform sprinkling. Quick drying must be avoided as with all plasters when curing, to eliminate the possibility of cracking.
Wash tools with water.
